The Howard & Irene Levine Family Foundation supports Jewish life, education, good health, and affordable housing. Guided by the values of family, we seek to support projects that demonstrate inspirational leadership
and sustainability.
Legacy
The Howard & Irene Levine Family Foundation was established in 1998 as an expression of Howard and Irene Levine’s lifelong commitment to generosity and service. Howard Levine was a visionary leader whose early experiences growing up in a planned apartment community in the Bronx shaped a deep belief in the importance of affordable housing, health, and opportunity. Together, Howard and Irene practiced philanthropy as a sustained, values-driven endeavor—supporting efforts marked by compassion, strong leadership, and long-term impact. After Howard’s passing in 2024, the foundation’s work continues to reflect his values and vision – particularly across the Los Angeles areas, where he and Irene lived, worked, and raised their family. Alongside her family, Irene Levine continues to steward the foundation with generosity and care, carrying forward a legacy rooted in family, purpose, and enduring responsibility to community.
“Our father, Howard Levine, cared deeply about helping others. He dedicated his later years to Affordable Housing, Senior Programs, Jewish Continuity, and Parkinson’s Research. He lived in Los Angeles, raised our family here, and was deeply involved in the community.”
– David Levine, Executive Director of The Howard & Irene Levine Family Foundation.

The fund was created in honor of Howard Levine’s legacy of compassion and generosity. Learn more
